The Story

Why Pubcrawlr?

Because London's best pubs weren't on Google. They were in conversations. In recommendations from people who actually lived here. In the places your friends dragged you to on random Wednesdays that ended up becoming your favourite.

Born From Frustration

We got tired of the same narrative. Every guide to London pubs looked the same—tourist traps with big budgets, anonymous ratings from people who'd never be back. We wanted to build something different.

Pubcrawlr started as a group chat. Recommendations. Arguments about which neighbourhood had the best pints. Obsessions with specific bars that only made sense to people who'd actually been there.

How We Pick Pubs

Atmosphere First, Everything Else Second

You can have world-class craft beer and Michelin-star food. If the vibe is wrong, it's not on this list. We care about whether you want to stay for one drink or three hours.

Character Always Wins

A hole-in-the-wall with soul beats a soulless gastropub every time. We look for places that feel like they belong to the neighbourhood, not the neighbourhood belonging to them.

Real Opinions, Not Rankings

We don't do star ratings like you're booking a hotel. We tell you specific things: "Go on a Wednesday when it's quiet," "the pint here is genuinely better," "bring someone you want to impress."

What We Won't Do

  • Review pubs purely on having Instagram-friendly decor
  • Care about price if the vibe is right
  • Pretend a touristy pub is bad just because tourists go there
  • Rate cocktails when we're talking about beer pubs
  • Include places that have lost their soul to trend-chasing
